Derby Night Benefits Memorial Hospital Foundation
The Second Annual Memorial Hospital Foundation Derby Night will be bigger and better this year, thanks to all the sponsors and Foundation members. This Kentucky Derby-themed event is slated for Friday, April 19, 2013, from 7 p.m. – 10 :30 p.m., at the KirboCenter at BainbridgeCollege. All proceeds from Derby Night will benefit the Foundation’s mission to provide needed special equipment to Memorial Hospital and Manor, advancing health care in Southwest Georgia.
"Derby Night" will feature actual video horse races with "funny money" for bidding, heavy hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, a live auction, and a Ladies Hat Contest. Faye Martin of “Elizabeth’s” will cater this year’s event.
Almost 50 silent auction items for everything from art to antiques, portraits to parties, facials to food, and hunting trips to home décor will be open for bids. In addition, a live auction will include a guided quail hunting trip donated by Southwind Plantation, fine jewelry bracelet donated by Godwin Jewelers, a week at a North Carolina mountain house donated by Ken and Vicki Bailey, a catered dinner for 10 donated by Crave and Brentwood Plantation, and a week’s vacation at a beach house donated by Mike and Leslie Harrell.
“Triple Crown Sponsors” of the Derby are First Port City Bank, Southwest Georgia Oil Company, and Memorial Hospital Medical Staff. Approximately 40 other local businesses and individuals are helping sponsor Derby Night.
